Grup Viñas has received the visit of the authorities of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs organized by the interprofessional Provacuno and with the participation of the Ministry of Agriculture of Spain, the Ministry of Health of Spain and the Veterinary Services of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
The purpose of the visit was to carry out a preliminary inspection to assess the Spanish control system in the beef production sector. During their stay, they visited an official laboratory, a border inspection point, waste treatment centres, a multi-species feed factory, a cow farm, a fattening farm, a slaughter, a shedding room and a cold store.
The visit to the slaughter and shedding room of Grup Viñas on Vic was very satisfactory for all parties, and it is a first step for the next opening of the South Korean market. Currently, the exports of the Group represent almost 40% of its production and the opening of new markets is an objective for the growth of the company and the future of all the operators in the sector. In the last few years, the Japanese, Vietnamese, and Philippine markets have been opened for export in the bovine sector.
